Dr. Demetrios Sirounis, MD, FRCP
Dr. Demetrios Sirounis is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Society of Echocardiography and is a dually trained sub-specialist in Cardiac Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Sirounis is also an Associate Investigator at the S.H. Leong Center for Healthy Aging at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Sirounis is a lecturer, researcher, supervisor, and Division Head of Critical Care Medicine in Vancouver. He has also served as a Duty Medical Administrator during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games Vancouver. Demetrios is a retired professional triathlete and passionate about athletics.

Jennifer Sirounis, RHN, RNCP
Jennifer is the Co-Founder of Evolving Health, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner.
With over 17 years of experience, she’s passionate about helping individuals unlock their vitality and reinvigorate their health. Her purpose-driven nutrition plans are designed to address each client’s immediate needs while fostering sustainable, long-term health transformations.
With an approach that values nutrition as one of the cornerstones of lasting energy and well-being, Jennifer equips her clients with the insights and tools for meaningful, life-long change. Her expertise not only elevates healthspan and quality of life but also inspires clients to embrace a vibrant empowered future.

Dr. Jason Brooks, PhD
Dr. Brooks is a leading expert in mental performance and personal development, specializing in optimizing mindset and building resilience for a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
With a PhD in Kinesiology specializing in Performance Psychology, Dr. Brooks helps clients condition their brains for peak mental fitness, adaptability, and stress management. His tailored coaching strategies empower individuals to unlock their full potential, creating a lifestyle built on mental clarity, emotional regulation, and sustainable success.

Dr. Jinelle Gelinas, PhD
Dr. Gelinas is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist whose credentials and expertise set her apart as a leader in her field. With over a decade of experience and a PhD in Exercise Physiology, she has become a sought-after expert in harnessing exercise as a clinical tool for disease prevention, management, and rehabilitation.
Her specialization in working with complex, multi-condition clients has earned her recognition as a leader in integrative health strategies. Jinelle’s cutting-edge approach and commitment to evidence-based practices make her a cornerstone of Evolving Health’s mission, and we’re fortunate to have such a trailblazer guiding our clients toward lasting health and vitality.

Leanne Kedrosky
Leanne is a seasoned Strength & Mobility Coach with over a decade of expertise in optimizing human movement. Certified in Functional Range Mobility, Kinstretch Levels 1 & 2, Functional Range Assessment, and more, she skillfully blends strength, cardio, and mobility to create comprehensive, longevity-focused programs.
Her approach goes beyond traditional training—helping you stay active and pain-free while doing the things you love for longer. As an expert in rehabilitation and functional movement, Leanne’s personalized programs at Evolving Health are designed to not only improve your body composition but elevate your overall quality of life.

Kyla Coates, MSc
Kyla is a Certified Clinical and High-Performance Exercise Physiologist with a background in elite sport, having competed as a triathlete on the World Cup and World Championship circuits. She is currently pursuing a PhD focused on the physiological adaptation to exercise training stress in adults and the application of non-exercise interventions, such as heat therapy, to enhance healthspan.
Over the past decade, she has combined her research and athletic experience to work with professional water sport athletes, national-level runners, and ultra-endurance athletes. Her expertise lies in assessing and addressing performance limitations and developing personalized interventions to support optimal health and human performance.
The Lab Team

Owen Payne, MSc
Owen is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) and exercise physiologist with a Master of Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC). He has built a reputation as an expert on V̇O2 max testing through his experience teaching at UBC’s School of Kinesiology and research pedigree that includes multiple peer-reviewed publications.
With expertise in respiratory mechanics and advanced physiological testing, Owen joins the Evolving Health Lab team to bring you the most accurate data-driven VO2 results. His evidence-based approach equips clients with tailored strategies to improve health, resilience, and performance.

Owen Harris, BHK, MSc
Working with the Evolving Health Lab team, Owen combines academic expertise with elite athletic experience to advance exercise physiology. He holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Clinical Exercise Physiology and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from UBC Vancouver, where his research explored the effects of exercise, chronic disease, and environmental stressors on human physiology.
A lifelong athlete, Owen competed in varsity track and field and cross-country and now races as a road cyclist with Red Truck Racing. Drawing from extensive experience as a Clinical Research Assistant at UBC’s Cardiopulmonary Exercise Physiology Lab, he leverages his academic training and athletic background to help individuals achieve their health and performance goals.
Our Scientific Advisors

Dr. John Boyd, MD
Dr. Boyd is a renowned medical expert and valued Scientific Advisor for Evolving Health. After earning his MD from the University of Western Ontario in 1998, he trained in Internal Medicine before specializing in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at McGill University (2001-2004). He completed a prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Meakins Laboratory in Montreal.
Currently, Dr. Boyd serves as an Intensivist at St. Paul’s Hospital ICU and Investigator at the Institute for Heart + Lung Health. His research spans clinical, translational, and cellular mechanisms, focusing on extreme cardiovascular physiology and emerging approaches to precise exercise prescriptions in survivors of critical illness.

Dr. Najib Ayas, MD, MPH
Dr. Najib Ayas is an internationally renowned leader and researcher in the field of sleep medicine, with a distinguished career spanning decades. He trained at the Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health, specializing in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine.
His groundbreaking research on the health and safety consequences of sleep apnea and sleep deprivation has been published in top-tier journals, including The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, JAMA, and NEJM, with nearly 30,000 citations. As a Scientific Advisor to Evolving Health, Dr. Ayas brings unparalleled expertise to optimizing health through the science of sleep.

Dr. James McKendry, PhD
Dr. James McKendry is an internationally recognized expert in muscle physiology and healthy aging. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia and an investigator at the Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging. He leads the MAIN (Muscle Aging, Inactivity, and Nutrition) Laboratory, where his pioneering research explores how exercise, nutrition, and disease affect muscle health across the lifespan.
Dr. McKendry has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals and is advancing strategies to preserve muscle function, extend healthspan, and significantly improve quality of life. He brings invaluable scientific expertise and innovative insights to the Evolving Health team.
